Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?
I had hoped things might get better.
They didn’t. They got worse and more than ever I wish i could die.
(No I am not saying this for attention, so don’t fucking start)
What’s your favorite time of day?
Mid afternoon. Reminds me of when the torture of school was finally over. It will forever mean freedom to me
What’s the story behind your nickname?
When me and my siblings were kids, it was usually our maternal grandmother who would babysit us since she lived a short walk away.
She had a small rose garden (probably wouldn’t count as a garden, really), and I loved it. I thought the white roses were beautiful, although yellow became my preference over time. But back then, something about them seemed angelic to me. It felt special and safe. Safe was especially important.
It is somewhere I can associate happy memories with from my childhood. I don’t have many. So I’ve never forgotten it.
But why bloody? Because there’s a lot of darkness that lurks behind those memories. A lot.
What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
Taking a minute or two to take breaths, just concentrating on that and blocking out everything else.
That said, some things trigger me to freeze up out of fear, and I can’t think of what to do in the moment.
How do you express your gratitude?
“Thank you, I appreciate this, you are too kind.”
Might seem a bit OTT, but in my earlier life, I never much kindness to be grateful for.
What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?
Louise. No special meaning as far as I’m aware.
What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?
Keeping my mental health steady.
List five things you do for fun.
1. Have a bath.
2. Write.
3. Draw.
4. Rewatch one of my fave films.
5. Just enjoy the quiet when I can get it. Can you hear the music?
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
A sweater knitted by a friend of my mother’s especially for me. I was really into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and they had put my favourite turtle on the front (which was Raphael). It was just beautifully made, and there’s even a school photo of me wearing it, beaming happily. If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know my childhood wasn’t great, but that sweater was so precious. I cried when I grew out of it, and we handed it to another family member.
