Work progression. Refining my style and techniques after returning to art a decade after I left art school and simply stopped producing any work. I don’t truly know what caused that mental block to occur – I simply found myself unable to even entertain picking up a pencil or paintbrush or pastel stick again.
I came back after I started to produce regular pieces of writing and took up learning a new skill in photography. I find it therapeutic and often fun, although the results as you can see are not great. I hope I can make the steps to producing something admirable. Creation is a journey. I understand that a lot better now.
I often wonder what will happen to my work after I die. Will my family bother keeping it? Or just shove it in the attic with the rest of what they consider junk. The only art that gets “saved” in a respectful manner is by the well-known. The 99% of us who don’t qualify as such…our work is forgotten, destroyed, and eventually nobody will know it existed at all.
